About the fund
The 30×30 Southeast Asia Ocean Fund is a regional, collaborative impact vehicle established to accelerate progress toward the global “30% by 2030” marine-conservation target. The Fund supports inclusive, equitable and effective efforts to create new marine protected and conserved areas (MPCAs), expand existing ones, and strengthen their management across Southeast Asia. It prioritises frontline coastal communities, in-country civil society organisations and community-led governance models, recognising that durable ocean protection depends on local leadership and rights-based approaches. The Fund underwrites a wide slate of strategic activities — from capacity-building, policy support and innovative financing through to applied research, sustainable livelihoods and technology-enabled enforcement. Co-chaired by the philanthropic organisations Rumah Foundation and Oceankind and administered by the Asia Community Foundation, the Fund has already surpassed its initial fundraising target and is actively deploying grants in Indonesia, the Philippines and other countries within the region.
