The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the domestic anti poverty and social justice program of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, focused on addressing the root causes of poverty in the United States by backing community controlled, self help organizations and transformative education. It prioritizes solutions shaped and led by people experiencing poverty, supporting grassroots efforts that build local power, strengthen economic opportunity, and change systems and policies that perpetuate inequity, with grants that have historically included community organizing, job training, cooperatives and credit unions, and other community driven development strategies.
