The Upstart Co-Lab Creative Economy Fund is a fund-of-funds vehicle mobilizing capital for inclusive enterprises and financiers within the creative economy sector. Operating as a nonprofit structure domiciled in the United States, the fund has raised $15 million from more than a dozen investors toward a $100 million target, with approximately two-thirds of capital designated for investments in complementary funds and financial service providers. The fund provides early-stage venture capital across seed and Series A stages, focusing on portfolio companies and fund managers that advance diversity, inclusion, and job creation within creative industries across North America. Current fund and manager investments include positions in Honeycomb Credit, Willow Growth Partners, True Beauty Ventures, SoGal Ventures, Making Space, and Breakr. The fund targets foundations, family offices, and institutional investors as limited partners.
