About the fund

BigCircle Venture Fund is an early-stage venture capital vehicle managed by BigCircle Ventures in Amsterdam. The fund is dedicated to identifying and commercialising deep-tech innovations at the intersection of climate, circular economy and materials science. It sources inventions from universities and research institutes, then supports their transition into scalable startups through venture-building, early funding, and hands-on operational support. The fund targets approximately 30 portfolio companies, backing them via convertible loans and follow-on equity into growth-stage rounds. Investments are guided by a rigorous impact framework focused on greenhouse-gas avoidance, circular-material flows and pollution reduction. With backing from limited partners such as VP Capital, the fund aims to bridge the innovation-to-market gap for climate tech in Europe and deliver both measurable environmental outcomes and financial returns.
