About the fund

The ACBN Microloan Fund is a community lending program launched by the Afro Caribbean Business Network Foundation Canada to address the persistent gap in access to capital for Black entrepreneurs of African and Caribbean heritage in Ontario. One of the first programs of its kind in the province, the fund offers low-interest loans at prime plus 1.25%, designed as a practical stepping stone for founders who are underserved by traditional financial institutions and government programs focused on larger loan amounts. Supported by partners including Alterna Savings Credit Union and the Inspirit Foundation, the fund operates within ACBN's broader ecosystem of business development supports, including entrepreneur drop-ins, grant guidance, and a Loan Readiness Program to help borrowers prepare for and access capital with confidence.
