ImpactAlpha, March 16 – San Francisco-based Planet FWD is creating “climate friendly” snacks as well as a platform to connect farmers using regenerative agriculture techniques with brands looking for suppliers.

Agriculture accounts for about a quarter of annual global greenhouse gas emissions. Regenerative practices can reduce emissions and sequester carbon in the soil.

“Farmers are at the front line of the climate crisis and their practices have the power to not only reduce carbon emissions in the food system but also draw down carbon into the soil and the above-ground biomass,” said Planet FWD founder Julia Collins.

Cleo Capital, Maveron, Kapor Capital, Incite Ventures, Precursor Ventures, Cowboy Ventures, Jane VC and F7 Ventures also participated in the deal.
