About this Role
As a Senior Manager, Product Sustainability & Circularity at VF Corporation, you’ll be positioned at the core of VF’s efforts to transform its approach to sustainability. Working across various brands, you will lead initiatives ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on circularity and product sustainability. You will play a pivotal role in assessing and guiding VF’s strategy in Europe, collaborating with multiple brand teams and the global sustainability team to implement impactful change. The role involves strategic oversight in reducing VF’s environmental impact, requiring strong relationship-building skills and proficiency in regulatory compliance. You will spearhead innovation in product design and material usage and lead initiatives to uphold VF’s sustainability commitments.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team focused on measuring and reducing the impact of VF’s materials and products for Europe-based brands.
- Build capabilities and processes to improve data quality for product impact reporting.
- Guide brand teams through EU regulation requirements and implement improvements for their product impact data.
- Support global brands with circular product design and innovation.
- Define and guide VF’s Circular Product Design strategy aligned with sustainability priorities.
- Collaborate with factory teams to explore waste re-integration opportunities.
- Foster knowledge sharing across VF to prepare for regulatory compliance.
- Partner with marketing and legal teams to manage internal and external communications.
- Identify and manage external partners for circularity initiatives.
- Engage with brand and VF function teams globally to ensure compliance with sustainability-related regulations.
- Represent the Global Sustainability team at industry meetings and conferences.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills and project management expertise.
- Proficient understanding of circular design and product sustainability.
- Knowledge of synthetic materials and textile innovation.
- Familiarity with the industry operating model and sustainability frameworks.
- 8+ years of experience in sustainability, preferably within the apparel or footwear industry.
- Strong grounding in environmental policy and EU governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
- Experience in sustainability ratings and reporting frameworks.
