About this Role

The Associate, Mergers and Acquisitions at Cypress Creek Energy plays a critical role within the deal teams. This position involves primary responsibilities for transaction financial modeling, due diligence workstreams, and coordination with cross-functional subject matter experts and external consultants. The position supports the origination, evaluation, negotiation, and closing of utility-scale solar and storage projects/portfolios acquisitions. With a flat organizational culture, the role offers the opportunity to gain diverse industry exposure, develop new skills, and progress professionally. Working from offices in NYC, San Francisco, Santa Monica, or DC, the role follows a hybrid schedule, offering both in-office and remote work. The associate will undertake the vital task of coordinating presentations for the CCR executive team and Investment Committee, ensuring the company meets ambitious growth targets while delivering high-quality energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial modeling and valuation analyses for M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare presentation materials to communicate investment thesis, key value drivers, sensitivity analyses, and market dynamics.
  • Create and enhance analytical tools to improve financial models and streamline processes.
  • Maintain databases related to the deal pipeline and market research.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams throughout the company, including Development, Structured Finance, and Legal.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree; MBA or other relevant graduate degrees welcome.
  • 2-4 years of finance experience, ideally in renewable energy.
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams across U.S. offices.
  • High attention to detail and deadline-driven work ethic.
  • Unimpeachable ethics and integrity.
  • Organized and diligent, able to manage multiple information streams.
  • Successful completion of an Excel-based modeling test.
