About this Role
Partners Group is embarking on a transformative journey to embed sustainability comprehensively throughout its corporate platform and investment activities. The role of the Global Sustainability Team Head is pivotal in this mission. By spearheading the creation of a sustainability strategy that is both ambitious and measurable, the successful candidate will drive governance, enhance data management, and foster actionable outcomes across numerous teams, funds, and portfolio companies. This role is crucial in ensuring that Partners Group’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments are met and reported, facilitating long-term value creation and responsible investment stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Support the Board of Directors and Executive Team in articulating Partners Group’s sustainability ambitions and priorities.
- Define and implement a global sustainability strategy addressing regulatory requirements and firm’s long-term ambitions.
- Lead the Sustainability team to set high-quality delivery standards and foster engagement across the global firm.
- Enhance sustainability policies and implement controls for corporate, product, client, and regulatory commitments.
- Monitor progress against corporate commitments and sustainability commitments of investments.
- Establish governance routines including goals, KPIs, and reviews to drive decisions and mitigate risks.
- Build sustainability data architecture and governance routines for timely reporting.
- Support and collaborate with client teams, investment teams, and portfolio companies in ESG initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience with exposure to financial markets and leading ESG/sustainability in complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of ESG topics and industry initiatives, navigating evolving requirements and client expectations.
- Ability to build, lead, and engage teams across multiple locations and cultures.
- Experience in establishing sustainability data architecture, governance, and reporting mechanisms.
- Strong client-facing skills to credibly communicate strategy and progress.
- Excellent analytical capability and integration of ESG factors into business decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
