Banco Industrial raised $415 million to green buildings and food systems in Guatemala… Kenya’s Pyramidia Ventures secured $2 million to build companies addressing food security… Netherlands-based Revyve secured nearly €24 million ($28.2 million) in Series B funding, led by ABN AMRO’s Sustainable Impact Fund and Invest-NL, to launch its yeast-based egg alternative… Terra Oleo raised $3.1 million to make alternatives to palm oil and cocoa butter.
Clean tech + storage. Cambridge, Mass.-based Fourth Power notched $20 million in Series A equity to roll out its modular thermal energy storage facilities… Development finance institutions Norfund, British International Investment and the Industrial Development Corp. exited their stakes in the Kenhardt solar + battery storage plant in South Africa… Germany-based geothermal developer Factor2 Energy raised $9.1 million in a seed round from At One Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds, Verve Ventures, Siemens Energy Ventures and others.
Energy transition. Acumen nears $250 million goal for its hardest-to-reach solar fund… Macquarie Asset Management raised $2.4 billion in investments and $647 million in co-investment capital for its first energy transition fund, Macquarie Green Energy Transition Solutions.
Fund news. Galvanize debuted a $1.3 billion credit fund to finance renewable energy companies and projects… Women-led Vastpoint notched $22 million for Polish startups.
Green mobility. Commercial airline group Oneworld Alliance partnered with Breakthrough Energy Ventures on a $150 million investment fund to support sustainable aviation fuel innovation… Pune-based Blue Energy Motors secured $30 million to ramp up production of electric heavy duty trucks.
Inclusive finance. Lendable provided $50 million for school financing in Mexico… The Visa Foundation and the African Guarantee Fund provided a $2 million grant to the African Development Bank’s Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa’s Guarantee for Growth program… TPG’s Rise Fund invested in UK-based Tide, which provides business management services for small and mid-sized businesses.
Investing in health. AlleyCorp led a $20 million equity round for Birches Health, a company that helps adults in the US with gambling and internet addictions… Imagine Pediatrics raised $67 million to provide pediatric care for children with special needs… Impact Shakers Ventures, which invests in diverse-led impact startups in Europe, invested in Berlin-based women’s health tech venture Evela Health.
Nature-based financing. AXA IM’s Natural Capital and Impact Investments group made an equity investment in Pantheon Regeneration PBC, which is restoring peatlands in the southeastern US… EcoEnterprises Fund raised nearly $100 million in the first close of its fourth fund for regenerative and nature-based businesses in Latin America.
Ownership economy. In KKR’s latest employee ownership exit, employees of Integrated Specialty Coverages, a Carlsbad, Calif.-based insurance company, will receive payouts of up to two years of their salaries.
