The Week’s Dealflow: August 29, 2025

Blue economy. Bluefront Equity clinched $100 million for its second sustainable seafood fund. 

Carbon markets. Carbon credit marketplace Rubicon Carbon inked an off-take agreement with Kenyan biochar company Bio-Logical.

Catalytic capital. RSF Social Investment Fund closed the first offering of its CUSIP-assigned broker notes, with gross proceeds of $5.4 million. It also loaned $4.2 million from its Social Investment Fund to BlocPower, Solaris and Plankton Energy.

Connected communities. Symbiotics provided a $5 million loan to Ghana-based Complete Farmer to help smallholder farmers access markets… Finnfund provided $4 million in debt to Poa Internet to deliver affordable broadband access to under-connected communities in Kenya.

Education and skills. Impact Engine invested in Core Education to help small higher education institutions diversify their revenue streams and modernize their technology.

Financial inclusion. FMO approved a $10 million investment in Lendable’s second MSME Fintech Credit Fund to finance fintech companies in Africa, Asia and Latin America… Swiss impact asset manager responsAbility provided €27.5 million to Turkiye’s DenizBank Group to support its small business lending and green leasing services. 

Green infrastructure. GDEV Management pulled in $200 million for a second distributed solar infrastructure fund… Italian asset manager Sosteneo SGR raised €700 million for its first clean energy infrastructure fund.

Impact in India. Macquarie Asset Management raised $405 million for Vertelo, a business it launched in India last year to help fleet owners switch to electric vehicles… CredRight secured $10 million in Series B equity to extend lending services to India’s smallest business owners… Private credit fund manager Avana Companies secured a license to begin green lending for small businesses in India… Altum Credo raised new equity financing from British International Investment to offer home construction loans and mortgages to India’s first-time home buyers.

Investing in health. Boston-based Eyebot raised a $20 million for its vision test kiosks that make vision screening more accessible… Nest Health raised $12.5 million to expand healthcare access for vulnerable families in the US… AfricInvest invested $10.5 million for medical oxygen in East Africa after DFC reneges… Danish private equity firm Maj Invest and Novo Holdings led a $47.5 million round for MedGenome to expand access to genomics research and diagnostics in India and other emerging markets. 

Returns on inclusion. EWA Capital raised a $24 million gender-smart venture fund for Latin America… TPG NEXT anchored Vanara Capital’s first fund… Candide Group, HCAP Partners and Turning Rock Partners were the final three investments in the New York City Economic Development Corporation’s Catalyst Fund.
