About this Role
As a Climate Impact Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial health and sustainability of Climate United. You will contribute by ensuring accuracy in accounting practices, aiding in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, particularly those relevant to nonprofit or grant accounting, and excellent Excel skills. You will be tasked with aiding the development and implementation of emission reduction methodologies and tools. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining Climate United’s commitment to accurate data collection and reporting across its portfolio. As part of this role, you will collaborate with various teams to achieve established emission reduction targets. Your responsibilities will also include developing relationships with coalition partners and standard setters, allowing Climate United to influence industry standards. You will engage in innovation to support emissions reduction projection tools and participate in special projects, ensuring the enhancement of Climate United’s mission and goals.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across various teams to develop and implement emissions reduction methodologies.
- Ensure quality data collection and reporting across all portfolio segments.
- Support the achievement of established emission reductions targets.
- Assist in scope 1-3 emissions reporting.
- Develop relationships to influence industry standards.
- Support emissions reduction scoping exercises for other business lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
- Familiarity with emissions scoping and carbon accounting methodologies.
- 1-2 years of work experience in related areas is a plus.
- Superb analytical and research skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a collaborative nature.
- Ability to drive projects from start to finish in coordination with a team.
