About this Role

The Head of Climate Leadership at Water.org is charged with steering the organization’s climate-focused strategies and initiatives across various operational platforms. This role demands strategic, technical, and programmatic oversight in coordinating with affiliate entities such as WaterEquity and WaterConnect. The position calls for thought leadership in devising and executing climate-related plans to effectively position Water.org for collaborative success. This includes managing a portfolio of climate solutions and ensuring their alignment with organizational goals. The leader will also engage stakeholders internally and externally to align and communicate strategic climate messaging and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across entities to align and implement an effective climate strategy.
  • Oversee organizational-level climate solutions and ensure alignment with impact metrics.
  • Partner with program teams to design or modify programs for maximized climate impact.
  • Develop tools, position papers, and resources for strategic climate messaging.
  • Act as the primary representative to governing bodies for climate initiatives.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on climate resilience and adaptation.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication and integration of climate strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent related work experience.
  • 12+ years of progressive responsibility in climate initiatives and engagement.
  • 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing complex climate programs.
  • Advanced knowledge in climate adaptation and resilience in water or finance sectors.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
