Agrifood investing. Amsterdam-based impact investment firm Pymwymic raised €71.5 million ($75.8 million) for its second Healthy Food Systems Impact Fund with backing from seven institutional investors and more than 250 private investors… Malaysia-based Secai Marche added $1.6 million to its Series A equity round to connect farmers in Southeast Asia with restaurants and retailers… Netherlands-based Tract raised $11.2 million from food giants including Archer Daniels Midlands and Cargill, and Omidyar Group’s Working Capital Fund, to help food companies manage sustainability risks in their supply chains… Ocean 14 Capital made an investment in Greece’s aquaManager for software that monitors sustainable aquaculture operations.
Climate finance. ‘AI for impact’ VC firm Blue Bear raised $160 million climate fund… Tangible raised £4 million to help climate tech companies scale with debt financing.
Energy transition. Fusion energy company Tokamak Energy raised $125 million from East X Ventures, Lingotto Investment Management, British Patient Capital, Sabanci Climate Ventures and other investors.
Financial inclusion. Accion invested in Banco Contactar to drive digital financial services to rural Colombia… Tumoni landed $2.3 million to bank Central American migrants and their families back home.
Green infrastructure. BNP Paribas Asset Management and the International Woodland Company raised $130 million for their Future Forest Fund, a European “Article 9” impact fund that invests in sustainable timber production… Climate Investment Funds’ Capital Markets Mechanism listed its bond issuance program on the London Stock Exchange to mobilize climate finance for projects in emerging markets… Cygnum Capital’s Africa Go Green Fund, which finances green infrastructure upgrades, secured a $16 million commitment from British International Investment, bringing its total raised to $166 million… Generate Capital secured a $1.2 billion revolving credit facility backed by 14 institutional lenders to finance sustainable infrastructure projects.
Impact real estate. LISC secured an $18 million grant from the city of Cleveland, and a $20 million commitment from KeyBank, for its Cleveland Housing Investment Fund, which will invest in affordable housing in the city… Turner Impact Capital’s latest impact fund invested in workforce housing in Denver.
Investing in health. Blue Earth issued an $11 million sustainability-linked loan to a Namibian hospital… Chicago-based Synapticure secured $25 million to provide virtual support to neurodegenerative disease patients and their caregivers.
SDGs. Four Danish pension funds committed 2.7 billion kroner ($38.1 million) to SDG Investment Fund II, an emerging markets private investment fund run by the Investment Fund for Developing Countries, Denmark’s development finance institution.
Waste management. Australia’s Earthodic clinched $4 million in seed funding from FTW Ventures, Closed Loop Ventures, Circulate Capital and other investors to make a water-resistant and recyclable coating for paper packaging… General Atlantic invested in Pennsylvania-based rubber recycling and manufacturing company Ecore International via its BeyondNetZero fund… Vaulted Deep raised $32 million in Series A equity to sequester carbon from organic waste, such as paper sludge and manure, in underground storage facilities.
Water. Incofin’s water fund backed clean water solutions in East Africa… OceanWell snagged $11 million to produce fresh water from deep sea farms.
