Climate finance. Global Innovation Lab announced eight startups from Brazil, the Philippines, Madagascar, and other emerging markets for its climate finance cohort.
European impact tech. The European Investment Bank anchored Speedinvest’s fund for inclusive tech with €40 million… Partech raised €300 million to back European companies in infrastructure, construction, agriculture, mobility and healthcare… Finland-based Elea & Lili raised $2.9 million to develop plastic-free materials for hygiene and agriculture.
Food systems. The Walton Family Foundation provided a partial guarantee to Banco de Crédito del Perú to extend additional credit to Peruvian fishing operator Perupez… Greece-based Wikifarmer raised $7.7 million to use AI in connecting food buyers and sellers… Sistema.bio’s financing vehicle FarmCarbon, which will help farmers acquire small-scale biodigesters, raised $53 million.
Gender smart. 2X Global’s Resilient Future Fund offered Positive Ventures a catalytic grant for a recycling project that focuses on female waste pickers in Latin America…
Green finance. Impact Fund Denmark provided two billion Indian rupees to India-based lender BlackSoil Capital to offer green loans to microenterprises… Ecofy raised $42 million for lending to green businesses in India… Sri Lanka-based Citizens Development Business Finance landed $21.5 million from ResponsAbilityt o support women-led small businesses and green lending.
Low carbon transition. KKR invested $310 million for e-buses in India… California-based Amber Semiconductor closed a $30 million Series C round for its power management software… Newtrace raised $6.3 million to license its green hydrogen technology… The European Investment Fund, France’s Pension Reserve Fund and others invested over €900 million in Paris-based Rgreen Invest for its fifth fund… The European Investment Bank’s development finance arm committed $95 million to Atome’s green hydrogen plant in Paraguay.
Outcome-based finance. The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, the UBS Optimus Foundation and Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs backed a joint outcomes-based finance fund for education in Nigeria.
