ImpactAlpha, December 21 – Investment trusts in the U.K. are publicly listed companies that invest in other companies. British investment firm Schroders has teamed up with Big Society Capital on a socially-focused trust to make investments addressing U.K. homelessness, domestic violence, mental health and learning disabilities.

The trust has already acquired seven investments from Big Society Capital.

Schroder BSC Social Impact Trust’s initial public offering raised £75 million ($101 million) — the minimum target to list — and begins trading Dec. 22 on the London Stock Exchange.
