ImpactAlpha, April 30 – Data centers throw off a lot of heat and are known for being energy intensive. The energy efficiency of data centers has improved in recent years but they’re still responsible for about 2% of total U.S. energy consumption. Aligned Energy’s technology siphons out and recycles hot air, and can be used in the development of new centers or in retrofitting old ones.

  • Cool tech… The infrastructure-tech company says its cooling system uses up to 80% less energy and 85% less water.
  • Joint ownership… The deal makes New York-based Macquarie Investment Partners a joint owner of Aligned Energy with BlueMountain Capital Management.
