About this Role

As a Vice President on our Investment Team, you’ll play a vital role in communicating with external investment managers and conducting thorough due diligence on climate change-focused investment strategies. You will help shape the team’s research agenda, strategy, and theory of change, with a core responsibility of evaluating impact investments that align with values, integrate ESG, and are thematic and catalytic. You will present research findings to Senior Investment Team members effectively and succinctly, support ongoing reviews of investments, and network with potential partners and investors to build a pipeline of climate investment opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Complete financial and impact-related due diligence of existing and proposed investments, including market-based solutions to climate change.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of manager attribution, decision-making, and GHG reduction in alignment with environmental megatrends.
  • Collaborate on projects related to asset allocation, manager selection, shareholder engagement, risk management, and annual impact reporting focused on net-zero transitions.
  • Develop fluency in AlTi’s full impact investing platform and contribute to investment projects, impact reporting, and the overall client experience.
  • Participate as an impact investing subject matter expert in client meetings.
  • Attend manager meetings and conferences to build a network of prospective fund managers, thought leaders, and peers.
  • Assist advisor teams in aligning client investment portfolios with science-based targets to net zero portfolio management.
  • Present research and thought leadership to advisors, clients, and prospects.
  • Generate thematic research on climate finance to guide manager research priorities.
  • Track and contribute to industry standards including impact management and measurement methodologies and frameworks.
  • Monitor investments aligned with climate frameworks, impacts, and risks.

Requirements

  • Master’s in environmental science, finance, management, sustainable finance, or a similar quantitative field with exposure to energy, natural resource economics, agriculture, climate, etc.
  • 4-8 years of professional experience in climate, sustainability, energy, natural resources, or a related role.
  • Ability to evaluate climate-related investment opportunities across asset classes.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial/investment-related data in Excel. Python or SQL experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write and present clearly with minimal editing/oversight.
  • Self-management of deadlines and projects with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Ability to work within small and large groups.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
