About this Role
Lumos Capital Group is seeking a full-time Analyst or Associate to join our growing team focused on growth equity investments in the global education and human capital development sectors. The Analyst / Associate will be a core team member involved in all aspects of the investment process, portfolio management, investor relations, and firm development. You will be responsible for deal sourcing and due diligence, conducting quantitative and financial analysis, and supporting all elements of the investment process. Additionally, you will assist in LP management/reporting, future fundraising, and firm activities, along with supporting portfolio companies across functional areas. The role also involves developing investment theses for targeted thematic areas and contributing to the firm’s internal research and thought leadership, while representing Lumos to external market participants.
Responsibilities
- Deal sourcing and due diligence for potential investments
- Conducting quantitative and financial analysis, including building detailed, bottoms-up financial models
- Supporting all elements of the investment process (e.g., investment committee memo creation, coordination with service providers, etc.)
- Assisting in LP management/reporting, future fundraising, and other firm activities
- Supporting portfolio companies across functional areas (e.g., strategy, finance, operations, hiring, etc.)
- Developing investment theses for targeted thematic areas and contributing to the firm’s internal research and thought leadership
- Representing Lumos to external market participants (e.g., company founders/entrepreneurs and management teams, VCPE investors, current/prospective limited partners, service providers, etc.)
Requirements
- 1-4 years of work experience in a relevant field (e.g., finance, investing (VCPE), consulting, corporate development, and/or startup)
- Strong critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity
- Fluency with financial modeling
- Enthusiasm for working in a small entrepreneurial team
- Strong business background and communication skills
- Unquestionable ethics and integrity
- Experience in the education and human capital development sectors is helpful but not required
