About this Role
The Reconciliations Executive will play a critical role within the Investment Operations team at BII. The primary responsibility of this position is to develop and implement a target operating model for reconciliations. This includes reviewing current reconciliations, conducting a scoping exercise, and recommending technology solutions. The role also involves defining governance, resourcing requirements, and management information needs. In addition to developing the target operating model, the Reconciliations Executive will conduct cash and share reconciliations on a rotational basis. The successful candidate will also identify and implement tactical changes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of existing reconciliations. This role demands strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate with various teams across BII to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop a target operating model for reconciliations at BII
- Review reconciliations conducted by Investment Operations and other departments
- Conduct a scoping exercise to confirm necessary reconciliations and their frequency
- Investigate and recommend technology solutions for facilitating reconciliations
- Define roles, responsibilities, governance, and oversight
- Establish resourcing requirements to support the target operating model
- Define management information requirements
- Work with stakeholders across BII to understand and incorporate their requirements
- Conduct cash and share reconciliations on a rotational basis with the Portfolio Administration team
- Identify and implement tactical changes to improve existing reconciliations and booking practices
Requirements
- Background in conducting and overseeing transactional reconciliations
- Familiarity with different technology solutions related to reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to investigate reconciliation differences
- Expert knowledge of reconciliation systems and their interaction with other systems
- In-depth technical knowledge of key product attributes and applicable regulatory requirements
- Significant experience in resolving complex issues and coordinating with various teams
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders
- Expert ability to navigate and utilize Excel
- Ability to develop solutions and build support for process improvements
- Understanding of Portfolio Management Systems (ideally eFront), complex transactions, and resolving discrepancies
- Ability to effectively communicate and prioritize workflow based on management information and business needs
