Our Climate Finance team partners with communities; federal, state, and local governments; corporations; philanthropy, and non-profit organizations from all sectors to deliver clean water, climate mitigation, and community resilience solutions to improve the wellbeing of people and planet. Our work is centered around four solutions: Outdoor Recreation, Green Banks and Resilience, Natural Climate Solutions, and Community Finance. In all, we focus on solving systems-level problems and accelerating climate smart investments through partnership, finance, and policy innovation.
Position Overview
QV’s Climate Finance team is looking for a Senior Associate / Associate Director with a passion for accelerating climate projects at the nexus of community health, equity, finance, and resilience. This is a rare opportunity to support the development of a new solution area while delivering local impact through QV’s diverse clients and partnerships.
This position will support multiple QV projects across Climate Finance solutions, with a focus on clients and projects in New England. Examples include supporting underresourced communities in accessing historic amounts of federal funding, developing innovative financing approaches, and building a long-term project pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Support engagement with communities and project partners, in collaboration with QV team members, to identify and deliver a set scope of work.
- Collaborate with QV team members to serve as thought leaders on developing new and innovative financing approaches for nature-based solutions and climate finance mechanisms.
- Assist with the development of new and innovative revenue streams for climate resilience projects.
- Collaborate across the Climate Finance team in analyzing key loan structures and financial planning for potential infrastructure projects.
- Support municipal and state partners and research potential state and federal infrastructure grant programs.
- Work closely with the Climate Finance Team on a broad range of projects and business development opportunities.
- Ability to deliver strong, high quality work to QV clients that leads to continued, deepened, ongoing partnerships.
Qualifications

Candidate requirements include:
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, economics, political science, business administration, or related field; graduate degree is preferred
- At least 3 years of experience (for Senior Associate) or at least 5 years of experience (for Associate Director) in project development or technical assistance with key project stakeholders (public or private sector) or experience in similar public funding programs
- Experience working with and facilitating collaborative outcomes with various stakeholder groups in environmental infrastructure design and project development

- Has a strong passion for working with communities and organizations to develop and implement solutions which address the climate crisis.
- Understands and have experience in the climate finance and conservation sectors.
- Brings deep experience in project management and a track record of successfully delivering projects across multiple stakeholders.
- Embraces a continuous process improvement culture and openness to innovation and problem solving through ambiguity.
- Enjoys going deep into the weeds to identify how funding and financing programs work and have the capacity to translate “big picture” implications for how to build a blended capital stack.
- Enjoys working directly with diverse communities and stakeholders to understand and address unique project challenges.
- Brings an entrepreneurial experience to starting up new programs or initiatives
- Has knowledge across multiple disciplines (e.g., finance, law, and policy) and environmental infrastructure (e.g., land conservation, agriculture, water)
- Has a passion for advancing the field of climate finance by developing innovative funding and financing models, as well as desire to build a more equitable environmental future for communities
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills as well as strong writing, research, and analytical skills

Position Location Requirements
This position is remote-first, with the expectation of in-person meetings as required. Candidates should anticipate approximately 25% travel time throughout the year. This candidate must be located in New England; relocation expenses will not be provided.
Salary + Benefits
The salary range for the Senior Associate and Associate Director positions is $90,000-$135,000 per year. Salary will be commensurate with experience, education, and applicability to the QV mission.
Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and a 401k retirement plan with generous company matching contributions. QV provides full-time staff with 10 paid holidays, 2 paid personal choice holidays, and 18 days of paid time off annually.
