About this Role

Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President of Impact Investing is pivotal in steering the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s impact investment platform. This role focuses extensively on affordable housing, with investments ranging from $1M to $5M, facilitating the funding of over 5,000 homes through commitments surpassing $124M. The Vice President will lead the Foundation’s impact investment strategies from conception to repayment, maintaining strong asset quality and fostering capital relationships among philanthropic and impact-investing communities. Additionally, this executive position is charged with the development and implementation of the Foundation’s investment strategy, combining deal leadership with pivotal platform management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and refine the impact investment platform strategy in partnership with the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Develop plans to amplify investment impacts for greater societal benefit.
  • Represent the Foundation within impact investment and housing ecosystems to enhance credibility and partnerships.
  • Source, evaluate, and advance impact investments primarily in affordable housing across metro Atlanta.
  • Oversee due diligence and structuring transactions in partnership with Finance and Legal teams.
  • Drive the fundraising capital strategy with philanthropy and impact-investing sources.
  • Serve as senior relationship manager to key capital partners and institutional donors.
  • Oversee impact reports, donor compliance, and integrate reporting schedules.
  • Manage underwriting oversight ensuring risk, affordability, and impact standards.
  • Build and manage the department’s team, advising on positions and staffing future growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, public policy, business, planning, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in impact investment with a focus on affordable housing finance/real estate.
  • Proven experience in leading complex transactions including underwriting, structuring, and negotiations.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, especially with investment committees and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stakeholder initiatives and deliver outcomes within budget constraints.
