About this Role

DC Green Bank is looking for a Director of Solar Investments to take a leading role in managing the Solar For All (SFA) lending program, which receives federal funding. The ideal candidate will develop strategies for a pipeline of solar investment opportunities and work closely with the Chief Investment Officer to ensure effective loan origination. As a part of DC Green Bank’s leadership team, you will be responsible for designing solar lending products compliant with federal and local requirements and spearheading marketing and strategic stakeholder engagement initiatives. This role also involves interfacing with government partners and the broader network of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund recipients to mobilize private sector capital for solar projects. The Director of Solar Investments must maintain awareness of industry trends and innovative financing solutions specific to the District’s solar market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the Solar For All (SFA) lending program.
  • Create lending products that meet SFA program requirements.
  • Assess necessary resources for successful SFA program implementation.
  • Collaborate with public agency partners to report program-level data.
  • Serve as the representative in public forums, conferences, and community events.
  • Develop relationships with local and federal government partners.
  • Create strategies to engage private sector financial institutions.
  • Maintain a pipeline of SFA and other solar transactions.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and government partners.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in solar energy or clean energy investment.
  • 4-year degree in Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision required.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days work-from-home.
  • Salary range from $160,000 to $175,000.
  • Preference for hiring District residents.
