About this Role
The Marketing Coordinator will contribute to Lafayette Square’s marketing and communication strategies by providing logistical support for both internal and external events, whether in-person or virtual. The role requires cross-functional collaboration to manage budgeting, legal approvals, and the maintenance of CRM platforms and dashboards. This role supports various divisions within Lafayette Square, providing significant exposure to a variety of audiences and strategies. The successful candidate will assist regional originators in developing and implementing their sales strategies, manage tasks related to the Lafayette Square Institute’s policy-focused initiatives, and support fundraising efforts through events orchestrated by the Capital Formation team. This position offers an opportunity to join a commercially scaled asset management firm with robust growth prospects.
Responsibilities
- Support the Marketing Team in producing virtual and in-person events, including venue research, target outreach, vendor management, contract negotiations, hotel rooming list management, attendee experience, logistical support, budget tracking, and event web page creation.
- Collaborate with various teams including Capital Formation, Origination, Lafayette Square Institute, and organize internal events and retreats.
- Assist in creating and maintaining marketing materials.
- Maintain data in the firm’s CRM platform, including adding target profiles, managing marketing campaigns, budget and speaking engagement approvals, and tracking campaign ROI.
- Support Lafayette Square’s external messaging via social media, email campaigns, video content, and more.
- Manage external event development, registration, and tracking within existing event platforms.
- Optimize existing processes to work efficiently across various teams.
- Work efficiently with internal and external parties regarding upcoming events.
Requirements
- Reside in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia area.
- Ability to work from Washington, DC office to support in-person meetings, events, and other office management requests.
- Ability to work early morning or late-night for event preparation, setup, or breakdown.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a Marketing role, with event experience required.
- Interest in public policy and government work preferred.
- Must be willing to operate in a nonpartisan environment and actively build strong relationships across the political and ideological spectrum.
- Strong academic credentials with a Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Mature, responsible, and proactive qualities.
- Ability to pivot and work on several projects simultaneously, with strong organizational and process-oriented skills.
- Demonstrated excellent oral, written, interpersonal, organizational, and follow-through skills.
- Experience with and commitment to utilizing technology for streamlining processes, workflows, and efficiency.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to translate ideas into execution.
- Must possess understanding of the job at both the strategic and tactical levels.
- Must be able to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
