ImpactAlpha, April 2 – Empowered Education is a training platform for wellness and healthcare coaches. The firm raised $8 million from White Plains, N.Y.-based Rethink Education.
Through its online schools Health Coach Institute and Functional Nutrition Alliance, Empowered has trained more than 20,000 healthcare coaches and practitioners with project-based learning and intervention coaching. The firm aims to “positively impact the lives of millions of people who are struggling with chronic disease management and those working to improve their overall health and wellness,” says Empowered’s Eric Neuner.
Rethink’s Michael Walden, who joined Empowered’s board of directors, praised the firm’s innovative education platform and ability to execute in the early stages. Rethink Education is currently deploying a $107.5 million second early stage fund. Recent investments include student analytics platform Civitas Learning, Peruvian skills startup Crehana and Denver-based Guild Education, which helps frontline workers affordably enroll in higher education and skill development.
