About this Role
As an Investment Manager at Newtree Impact, you will be deeply involved in every facet of the investment lifecycle. This role demands strategic responsibility, from sourcing and structuring transactions to managing portfolio companies through to value creation and exit. You will engage with multiple disciplines, including finance, technology, sustainability, and strategic alignment, ensuring that each investment fulfills Newtree Impact’s financial, strategic, and impact goals. You will be part of a dynamic Investment Management team, collaborating closely with Investment Analysts and reporting directly to the Founder and CEO.
Responsibilities
- Monitor market and sector trends.
- Identify and source direct investments and fund participations.
- Assess and develop synergies within the portfolio.
- Develop relationships with investment banks, funds, and sector experts.
- Lead financial, operational, legal, and impact due diligence.
- Build advanced financial models.
- Prepare investment memoranda and recommendations.
- Structure and negotiate equity, debt, and co-investments.
- Coordinate legal documentation.
- Manage deal closing.
- Monitor financial and impact performance.
- Produce periodic reporting.
- Participate in governance bodies.
- Support portfolios’ exit strategies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in STEM.
- Training in Corporate Finance and/or CFA, CAIA, GUBERNA, or an MBA.
- 7–10 years of relevant investment experience in the Agrifood-tech or bioeconomy sectors.
- Strong financial modelling and transaction expertise.
- Knowledge of ESG and Impact Investment.
- Fluent in English, French, or Dutch – native with a strong command of the other language.
