About this Role

The Private Equity Senior Analyst at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas is a critical team member in our Investment Management Division. This role involves engaging with a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to supporting the financial futures of over two million public education employees and retirees throughout Texas. You will be part of a team managing a global investment portfolio exceeding $225 billion. The ideal candidate will possess an intellectual curiosity and a keen ability to analyze complex data to identify investment risks and opportunities. The candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to the team’s strategic approaches through innovation and analysis. As a Senior Analyst, you will conduct due diligence on potential private equity investments and manage the ongoing portfolio monitoring and reporting. You will have significant autonomy and will work closely with the Private Equity Team and IMD staff, with direct reporting to a Private Equity Director.

Responsibilities

  • Perform due diligence and investment analysis to support the evaluation of co-investments across multiple sectors and geographies.
  • Evaluate the merits, risks, valuation, and terms of Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions.
  • Communicate analysis and recommendations to relevant team members through reports and presentations.
  • Consult and coordinate with team members and external advisors.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio diversification, performance, and risk.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the investment industry.
  • Utilize TRS portfolio management systems such as DealCloud and PowerBI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in relevant fields.
  • One year of full‑time experience in private equity investment activities involving high-level data analysis and financial modeling.
  • Skills in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
