About this Role
CGN Brazil is seeking an Energy Transition Specialist to play a crucial role in the development of energy storage solutions, renewable-powered data centers, and other emerging energy transition projects such as concentrated solar power (CSP) and green hydrogen. The position demands a blend of technical acumen, economic analysis, and commercial structuring to align with the company’s long-term energy transition goals in Brazil. The ideal candidate will be involved in guiding projects from the feasibility stage to investment decisions, supporting opportunity studies, and assessing technical and economic variables. Additionally, active participation in commercial contract negotiations and collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential parts of the role.
Responsibilities
- Develop BESS and renewable-powered data center projects from early feasibility to investment decision.
- Lead or support opportunity studies for CSP projects, green hydrogen, and Power-to-X concepts.
- Perform technical and economic assessments, including CAPEX/OPEX, IRR, LCOE, and scenario analysis.
- Support definition of technical solutions (capacity, power, storage duration, grid connection, hybrid configurations).
- Participate in commercial structuring and contract negotiations including EPC/EPCM contracts.
- Coordinate with grid operators, regulators, consultants, and internal teams.
- Support investment committee materials, business cases, and strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Energy, Economics, or related fields.
- 5–10 years of experience in energy storage, renewable energy project development, or energy transition technologies.
- Solid understanding of energy technologies and project economics.
- Experience with commercial terms, risk allocation, and contract structures.
- Knowledge of the Brazilian power market and regulatory framework is a strong plus.
