About this Role

Octavia Carbon is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial activities, particularly focusing on capital-raising and investor relations. As the company grows, it needs a financial leader to bolster its fundraising initiatives, refine financial models, and steer complex investor diligence processes. The CFO will play a pivotal role in translating Octavia’s technical and capital-intensive climate business into a compelling financial narrative for potential investors. Working closely with Octavia’s CEO and leadership team, the CFO will engage with institutional investors and manage detailed financial preparations to support fundraising activities. With an existing internal finance team managing daily accounting tasks, the CFO’s primary focus will be on enhancing the company’s capital strategy and preparing for investor engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CEO on equity and other capital raises.
  • Lead financial preparation for fundraising processes with institutional investors.
  • Engage directly with investors, development finance institutions, and other capital providers.
  • Support investor materials, due diligence processes, and financing strategy.
  • Build, refine, and own sophisticated financial models.
  • Develop scenario analyses, forecasting tools, and capital planning models.
  • Advise on financing strategy across equity, concessional, and other institutional capital sources.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive financial risk framework across technology, market, and policy dimensions.
  • Work closely with the internal finance team to strengthen finance processes and management insight.
  • Serve as a senior thought partner to the CEO and leadership team on growth, risk, and capital strategy.

Requirements

  • Approximately 10 to 15+ years of relevant experience in strategic finance, investing, corporate finance, or CFO leadership roles.
  • Strong track record in fundraising and investor engagement.
  • Experience managing complex financial modelling in capital-intensive environments.
  • Ability to navigate development finance and institutional investor environments.
  • Strong communication skills for representing the business to external stakeholders.
  • Experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or growth equity.
  • Background in climate, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or other capex-heavy sectors preferred.
