ImpactAlpha, April 1 – Unreasonable Group has launched an initiative to accelerate inclusivity in a changing workforce.
Seventy-five million jobs will be displaced by technology and automation by 2022, according to the World Economic Forum. In the same period, as many as 133 million will be created. Unreasonable FUTURE’s mission is to “proactively [address] the unintended consequences of AI, machine learning, up-skilling and the entire digital transformation that is emerging,” said Unreasonable founder Daniel Epstein.
The program will support the acceleration of 15 ventures demonstrating how advanced technologies are reshaping the workforce and supporting workforce re-skilling and up-skilling. The cohort is global and ranges from emerging markets talent recruitment platform Shortlist, which just raised a $2 million funding round, to AI-based aquaculture tech company XpertSea, which is also part of impact investor Aqua-Spark’s portfolio.
Unreasonable’s partners in the initiative include education publishing company Pearson, management consultancy Accenture and Fossil Foundation, the philanthropic arm of fashion company Fossil.
