Three makes a trend. Southern New Hampshire University has launched an education startup seed fund with White Plains, N.Y., venture firm Rethink Education. Arizona State University and University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education also have recently partnered with venture capital firms for strategic advantage.

SNHU put $10 million into the Rethink Education Seed fund; Rethink added $5 million.

The fund expects to invest between $250,000 and $750,000 in each of two dozen startups building tools and services for increased access to primary and higher education and workforce development, or what university president Paul LeBlanc calls “the education-to-workplace pipeline.”

Last year, LeBlanc launched Sandbox ColLABorative, an internal R&D incubator.
