About this Role
This Strategic Finance Lead role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to an innovative start-up specializing in direct air carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology. As a key non-executive hire reporting directly to the CEO, you will be instrumental in developing financial models to support high-value projects exceeding $100 million. Your responsibilities will encompass vital decision-making and negotiations throughout various project stages, including off-take negotiations, project finance, feedstock supply, and EPC. This role demands a strategic mind capable of leading teams, building strong business relationships, and presenting financial data in diverse environments. With a high degree of autonomy, you will have the chance to shape marquee projects in an emerging sector attracting substantial global investment.
Responsibilities
- Develop financial models to support high-value projects.
- Engage in key decision-making and negotiations for all project stages.
- Lead teams effectively and build strong business relationships.
- Present financial data in formal and informal environments.
- Participate in off-take negotiations, project finance, feedstock supply, EPC, etc.
- Work comfortably in a hybrid/remote team environment.
- Travel up to 25% as required.
Requirements
- Experience in project financing for large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally energy-related.
- Proven negotiation and people management skills.
- Strong financial modeling capabilities.
- High-level proficiency in spreadsheet and financial software.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field (STEM degree advantageous).
- Comfortable working in a hybrid/remote team and willing to travel up to 25%.
