New Majority Capital Foundation seeks highly capable and adaptable Business Advisors (BA) to support our upcoming bETA cohorts throughout the US. bETA is a 10-week, hybrid accelerator focused on ETA (entrepreneurship through acquisition). Business Advisors will provide weekly support to approximately 30-40 bETA fellows to ensure they move through the curriculum successfully. Each cohort has 2-3 BAs and each BA works directly with 2-3 groups of approximately 6 fellows. BAs play a critical role in ensuring successful completion of bETA, in furtherance of the foundation’s mission.


Reporting Relationship

The Business Advisor reports to the Program Manager.



New Majority Capital Foundation is a remote-first organization. BAs will be assigned to cohorts throughout the United States and are expected to travel for all in-person sessions. Weekly sessions with bETA fellows will be conducted virtually. BA geographical preferences will be taken into consideration when being assigned to cohorts.




The Business Advisor will provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the aspiring entrepreneurs enrolled in bETA. Business advisors are essential to the success of the cohort, and the specific duties include, but are not limited to:


  1. Hold post-class office hours to assist fellows with implementing module learnings (expected to meet each entrepreneur for 30-45 minutes every two weeks)
  2. Encourage fellows to share their expertise, provide feedback, and offer support to their peers
  3. Coach/advise entrepreneurs through sharing valuable resources, industry insights, and relevant articles/publications within the entrepreneurial community to support participant’s growth


Community Building: Acting as a liaison between entrepreneurs and local community organizations, governments agencies, or industry associations, while also helping entrepreneurs access relevant resources and/or business support services available within the community. This includes interacting with business brokers and banks who may have small businesses for sale. Attending all in-person bETA sessions including:

  1. Orientation
  2. Legal & Negotiation Workshop
  3. Closing Ceremony


Facilitating Networking Opportunities: Collaborating with local partners and/or organizations to host events focused towards accelerator’s initiatives; forging partnerships within the community to support the growth of aspiring entrepreneurs




  1. High personal and professional ethical standards
  2. Must reside in the continental United States
  3. Bachelors degree, preferable in business entrepreneurship, sales or related field, is required. Advanced degree welcomed.
  4. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in business coaching or technical assistance for small business or startup clients. Ideally, the candidate is familiar with the topic of small business acquisitions
  5. Strong understanding of financial analysis and construction of small business financial models
  6. Proven ability to work a diverse team environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively
  7. Strong spoken and written communication skills
  8. Ability to work a flexible schedule
  9. Ability to engage entrepreneurs in one-on-one sessions and small group interactions
  10. Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, e.g.) and a willingness to learn new tools (e.g.,Canvas, Calendly, Salesforce, Zoom, etc)
  11. Emotional intelligence with ability to give feedback in a positive and constructive manner



The compensation for this part-time position is $50 per hour, with an expectation of 20 hours per week for 12 weeks.
