Overview

The Consumer Products team is seeking a SVP, ESG Products to drive our product focus in inclusion and sustainability. The ideal candidate is passionate about how Mastercard can play an important role in making global commerce both inclusive and sustainable. Through existing and emerging products, we are developing payment products to support climate change, charitable giving and product solutions within the youth and underserved segments.

Role

Responsiblities Include:

  • Partner with the EVP, Consumer Products and Processing and President of Mastercard Strategic Growth (MSG) to support the delivery of the global ESG product strategy to drive commercially sustainable, inclusive products and solutions.
  • Lead the ongoing development and communication of the product strategy and objectives to reach our public facing commitments to restore 100M trees
  • Support the development of global and regional product strategies working with the relevant leads and deliver on agreed metrics and annual KPIs.
  • Manage the “run cycle” of the products in the portfolio including pricing, KPI monitoring, etc.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, The Foundry and Strategy to support future forward product development.
  • Understand global trends impacting consumer behavior / need states & expectations
  • Lead and manage a diverse, geographically dispersed hybrid team, creating a high performing culture with a strong emphasis on professional development.
  • Effectively partner with regional management teams and other key internal stakeholders, including Sustainability, the Center for Inclusive Growth, Account Management, Business Development, Expert Sales, Customer Delivery, Marketing.
  • Support EVP Consumer Products and Processing to prepare for industry/customer forums or other key partner meetings. ESG Steerco, Management Committee and Board Presentations
  • Be an internal ESG ambassador for Mastercard, working closely with the Sustainability and Communication teams to build/ execute a robust company narrative of our impact on society.

 

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should demonstrate:

  • Proven expertise in Sustainability programs and initiatives to act as a change agent
  • High degree of strategic vision and ability to translate that vision into concrete actions/impact.
  • Relevant experience in the payment industry, product management, product development, with extensive experience in the consumer and digital payments sector.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of the Mastercard product and services suite and those in the wider industry, with a particular focus on new and emergent technologies that may advance the sustainability-related propositions.
  • Superior communications, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and ability to influence people across a matrix organization at all levels.
  • Management style that is pro-active with respect for employees and their development to the highest levels of performance.
