IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Analyst to join our Real Estate team on an 18-month fixed term contract!

The Analyst will work alongside team members across the Real Estate asset class to support investment pooling and portfolio reporting initiatives in collaboration with the middle office.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will:

  • Provide ongoing support for the pooling and reporting of 2024 Real Estate objectives, including but not limited to:
  • Updating and maintaining investment descriptions, KPIs and attributes in portfolio summary reporting
  • Reviewing quarterly GP reporting and updating relevant spreadsheets/presentations with relevant information
  • Preparing analysis related to portfolio composition and pacing
  • Developing, generating, and collating periodic and ad-hoc analysis using various sources for investment and portfolio management, and to satisfy board and client reporting requirements
  • Supporting new reporting that may be specific to the Real Estate pool
  • Working with the Middle Office to develop and maintain reporting that will be required once asset pooling is completed
  • Supporting the ongoing development and enhancement of departmental applications, including report creation, systems review and implementations.
  • Evaluating report effectiveness and adjusting to meet the needs of Clients and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Senior Analyst team on periodic reporting requirements:
  • Review and update quarterly reporting deliverables
  • Read/review asset appraisal reports and prepare valuation summaries
  • Prepare/review valuation memos on a quarterly basis
  • Complete quarterly portfolio return updates
  • Develop reporting process handbooks that effectively outline instructions required to complete a specific report
  • Interpreting and commenting on real estate performance
  • Assist the Real Estate team during the due diligence phase and contribute to the creation of investment reports and presentation materials as needed.
  • Perform comprehensive research and analysis covering a wide spectrum of subjects to facilitate Real Estate investment decision making

What you will bring:

  • University degree in Business or a related discipline, CFA or AACI candidacy is an asset
  • At least 1-2 year of relevant work experience in private markets investing, preferably in Real Estate.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, financial modeling, problem-solving and researching skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and VBA would be considered an asset
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, with an ability to work to tight deadlines and the capability to handle multiple projects and ad-hoc requests simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels and cultivate key partnerships to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and compelling manner and present information to internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative to understand, support and implement goals and objectives
  • Strong proficiency of Microsoft Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
