About this Role

The Global Infrastructure Equity team (CNGES) at IFC is responsible for the corporation’s equity investments in various infrastructure sectors globally, including energy, natural resources, transportation, water, waste, municipal finance, telecoms, media, and technology. The team works closely with regional infrastructure teams and departments to identify and support new projects. The Investment Analyst will play a key role in supporting business needs related to equity transactions, working closely with Investment Officers to design, negotiate, structure, and manage investment projects. The position offers the opportunity to gain investment experience across diverse infrastructure sectors and regions, with occasional travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Build financial models and run valuations; analyze historical and projected financial statements for equity investment projects and opportunities
  • Conduct industry, market, and equity research and assist business development efforts in the equity space
  • Keep track of the performance of emerging market equities, maintain analytics on IFC’s equity portfolio, and compare portfolio performance to leading market indexes
  • Research, expand, and update the benchmarking database for IFC’s equity investments in emerging markets
  • Contribute to regular portfolio performance analysis reports to improve profitability and impact
  • Work closely with Investment Officers and management on equity strategy, drafting presentations and analyzing databases
  • Disseminate lessons learned internally
  • Prepare documentation for IFC internal processes
  • Participate in investment negotiations
  • Participate in asset management of equity investments in portfolio companies
  • Engage in all aspects of IFC’s investment execution cycle from business development, investment, asset management, and exit

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree with a specialization in finance, business, or accounting; preference for a Master’s degree
  • At least 2+ years of experience at a top-tier financial institution, preferably in private equity funds or investment banking, with a proven track record
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; sound business judgment
  • Experience in infrastructure projects is a plus, but not required
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and openness to feedback
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously under pressure
  • Interest in development issues and working in emerging markets
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across regions
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English; other languages are a plus
  • Interest in IFC’s mission, strategy, and values
