About this Role

The Grant Finance Officer-1 will assist the Finance Coordinator in providing efficient and effective financial management of Grants Cycle (GC) 7 grant. This role entails improving grant financial management and reporting in full compliance with Global Fund regulations and WVI-Sierra Leone policies. The officer will communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and exemplify quality spiritual life.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all supporting documents to cash disbursement, approvals, and journal vouchers are complete, accurate, and comply with WVI and Global Fund requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly project finance reports and maintain finance records and filing system on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure proper receipt, safe keeping, and lodgment of all funds received according to WVSL policies and Global Fund regulations.
  • Assist internal and external audit staff in facilitating annual financial audits to meet World Vision Partnership requirements.
  • Conduct field/community visits to review accounting and internal control systems; recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to GC7 Sub Recipients (SRs) and Service Providers (SPs) for compliance with WVI and Global Fund requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating the preparation of GC7 revised budget according to Global Fund’s Guideline for Grant budgeting.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly, ensuring reconciling items are current and accurate.
  • Enhance customer service through effective engagement with programs and project staff accessing the finance function.

Requirements

  • Degree/HND in Accounting or Part II of ACCA, CA/CIMA.
  • Good working knowledge in accounting software and advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Good analytical skills.
