About this Role

You will work in the Gender and Diversity Division (GDI) within the Social Sector (SCL). The team’s mission is to promote gender equality, empowerment, and the inclusion of indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals. The division supports Bank operations, provides policy and strategic guidance, and offers technical assistance and training.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and support of loans and technical cooperation projects within the division, enhancing components related to gender and diversity.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for mainstreaming gender and diversity activities, engaging in client dialogue, and analyzing statistical data.
  • Provide technical follow-up on the implementation of gender and diversity actions, particularly in technical cooperation and other prioritized operations.
  • Assist in developing analytical and communication products related to gender and diversity issues, including blogs, pedagogical capsules, dashboards, and technical notes.
  • Support the preparation of TCs’ annual reports by collecting information on the execution of activities, key indicators, lessons learned, and financial progress.
  • Work with databases and perform data analysis.
  • Participate in G&D research projects and initiatives.
  • Assist in the development of knowledge and dissemination products.
  • Support the coordination, design, and implementation of events.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, International Development, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience working on social development, with at least 3 years focused on gender issues and/or the prioritized diverse population groups (LGBTQ+, Afro-descendants, Persons with Disabilities, Indigenous People).
  • Experience working in multilateral organizations preferred.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written.
  • Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
