About the role

As a Project Assistant at BFA Global, you will be crucial in supporting project teams in implementing various initiatives and activities. You will work closely with project lead /managers, researchers, and other team members to ensure the smooth execution of projects to advance financial inclusion and sustainable development. This dynamic and fast-paced role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to project teams, including scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and managing project calendars.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare project reports, presentations, and other deliverables. Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely submission of project documentation.
  • Data Management: Support data collection, entry, and analysis processes. Maintain project databases and ensure data integrity.
  • Communication: Assist in internal and external communication efforts. Draft and proofread project-related correspondence, emails, and other written materials.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support organizing and coordinating stakeholder meetings, workshops, and conferences. Assist in capturing meeting minutes and action points.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on relevant topics and contribute to project data analysis. Summarize findings and generate insights to inform project decision-making.
  • Financial Administration: Assist with financial tracking, budget monitoring, and expense reporting. Work closely with the finance team to ensure adherence to project budgets and financial guidelines.
  • Knowledge Management: Supports the organization and maintenance of project-related knowledge resources, including databases, libraries, and shared drives.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with project team members to foster a positive and productive work environment. Contribute to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative activities.

Qualifications & requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, international development, economics) or equivalent practical experience is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience (1-2 years) in a project support or administrative role, preferably in international development or finance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and proficiency in proofreading.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Knowledge or interest in financial inclusion, sustainable development, and emerging markets is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
