About this Role
As an Associate at ESG Global Advisors Inc., you will report to members of the leadership team on a project-by-project basis. This role involves supporting Directors and Principals, collaborating with other colleagues, and directly engaging with clients. You will be involved in sophisticated analysis & research, report writing and reviewing, and providing guidance to other team members. Your main focus will be on ensuring detailed, specialized work is conducted through a strategic lens with high-quality deliverables. Drawing on several years of professional work experience, you will assess workloads, synthesize significant volumes of information, and communicate and collaborate effectively to achieve team success. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills and a firm commitment to meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Execute a wide range of client mandates, including developing ESG strategies and policies.
- Conduct ESG materiality assessments, including peer and investor benchmarking.
- Develop frameworks to integrate ESG across asset classes.
- Assist clients with ESG-related disclosure and reporting requirements.
- Prepare various client deliverables, including research, sophisticated analysis, and reports.
- Manage project management accountabilities, including coordinating meetings and following up on tasks.
- Ensure the high quality of client experience and deliverables.
- Support research and administrative needs in developing proposals and RFP responses.
- Contribute to social media and educational blog posts.
- Attend in-person and virtual events on behalf of the firm.
- Develop and maintain templates and standard operating procedures.
- Support the administrative maintenance of internal resources and databases.
- Participate in firm-wide team days.
Requirements
- Undergraduate university or college education in a relevant discipline (e.g., commerce, finance, environmental science, sustainability management).
- One to three years of professional experience in ESG at an institutional investor, corporation, or advisory firm.
- Familiarity with key ESG frameworks, including SASB Standards, TCFD recommendations, ISSB Standards, CDP, GRESB, and UN PRI Reporting Framework.
- Expertise and interest in climate change, responsible investment, and/or social impact.
- Strong professional writing and presentation skills.
- Client-focused with strong collaboration and team-working abilities.
- Methodical and diligent with a strong attention to detail and high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent reading comprehension and communication skills.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and committed to supporting team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 core products.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada and physically located in Canada.
