About this Role

CrossBoundary is recruiting an Associate or Senior Associate to join the Caribbean Advisory team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience living and working in the Caribbean or Guyana, strong contacts across the region’s financial services sector, and a thorough understanding of the investment landscape. This role involves evaluating investment opportunities, conducting macroeconomic market assessments, and providing transaction support to investors and capital seekers. Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies, to support investments in high-impact sectors will be highly regarded. Candidates should have 2-7 years of experience in high-caliber finance, investment banking, or consulting organizations and an interest in impacting frontier markets.

Responsibilities

  • Drive day-to-day project execution on workstreams, including identifying and evaluating investment opportunities.
  • Conduct sector or geographic landscape assessments.
  • Identify and engage with qualified regional and international investors.
  • Support the firm’s business development efforts in the Caribbean region by performing market assessments and identifying key potential clients and partners within regional markets.
  • Develop strategies for using CrossBoundary services to drive value for potential clients.
  • Work closely with CrossBoundary leadership on developing partnerships and pursuing new business opportunities in regional markets.
  • Support transaction advisory engagements by supporting or often leading complex commercial due diligence assignments.
  • Perform market research and develop client-facing recommendations.
  • Provide value-creation recommendations for post-investment strategy.
  • Advise on the structuring and deploying of blended finance vehicles.

Requirements

  • 2-7 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or similar.
  • Experience living and working in the Caribbean and/or Latin America.
  • Strong quantitative skills; familiar with diligence and valuation methodologies.
  • Familiarity and comfort with financial modeling and accounting.
  • Experience with high-quality slide-design and storyboarding.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities businesses face in frontier markets, as well as the macro-economic trends that impact them.
  • Possesses tangible grit, seeks differentiation by intentionally taking self outside of comfort zone physically, culturally, and intellectually.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high-impact sectors.
  • Demonstrated fluency in English; fluency in French or Spanish is a plus.
