U.S. buildings contribute 40 percent of the country’s energy use and carbon emissions.

But the complexity and upfront costs of efficiency retrofits have left 70 percent of the building stock unimproved.

The Helios Exchange claims to be the “world’s first commercial real estate platform for energy retrofit project development, insurance and financing.”

The exchange provides project simulations and business cases for more than 150,000 commercial buildings and identifies $12 Billion in annual energy savings opportunities.

Helios has secured $500 million to finance Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE), Energy Services Agreements (ESAs), loans, leases and other types project finance.
